Okeechobee – Richard Arden Ray died on January 28, 2021. He was born May 10, 1933, in Euclid, Ohio. A resident of Okeechobee since 1979, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Okeechobee. He was a member of Gideons International and enjoyed drawing, art, reading, and attending most church activities. Mr. Ray was an extrovert and made conversation and friends wherever he went. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Florence Ray; and his brother, Robert Ray.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Esther Ray; daughters, Ann Bell (Chris), of Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania, and Sharon Vegren (Lance), of Orlando; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Joyce Sherretts, of Sharon, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
