Richard A. Wade, 74, of 52550 C.R. 131, Bristol, died at 7:45 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 5, 2007) in Courtyard Healthcare Center.

He was born April 19, 1933, to George and Agnes (Pecionowsky) Wade.

He is survived by two sons, Robert “Corky” (Joe) Wade of Bristol and William (Eloise) Wade of Syracuse; one daughter, Cindy (Kelly) Apple of Elkhart; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis (Cheryl) Wade of Middlebury and Herbert Wade of Elkhart; and four sisters, Helen Henderson, Barb Cooper, Betty (John) DeMetz and Linda (Fred) Isza, all of Elkhart.

Mr. Wade spent most of his life in the landscaping business. He worked for different companies in several states in his youth, but ambition and talent allowed him to go on to become a self-employed landscaper. His business included landscaping downtown for the City of Elkhart.

He was an active member of Bristol American Legion Post 143 and enjoyed spending time there with his friends. He liked watching the birds feed from his home windows, being with his family and watching NASCAR with his son Corky. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the years between the Korean and Vietnam wars.
