Richard A. Gokey, Sr., 79, husband of Marie (Vanasse) Gokey of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Friday June 25, 2010 at The Pines of Bristol.
Richard was born on December 6, 1930 in Fairfax, VT a son of the late Wilfred G. and Inez Gokey.
Mr. Gokey served with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and retired from Pratt & Whitney in 1987 as a supervisor after working there for 31 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Linda and her husband Stanley Abramczyk of Bristol, Richard A. Gokey, Jr. and his companion Terry Solek of Bristol, Wilfred “Bill” G. and his wife Theresa Gokey II of Bristol, Stephen A. and his wife Linda Jean Gokey Sr. of Bristol, Cathy Higgins and her fiancé Bill Berg of Orlando and Tim Gokey of Bristol. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Stanley W. Abramczyk III, Tina and Brian Lefrancois, Eric Gokey, Kevin M. and Alyssa Gokey, Brian Gokey, Janelle and Paul Laferriere and Stephen A. Fontaine; two step-grandchildren, Matthew and Brian Jacobs; four great-grandchildren, Evan Valley, Jada and Camryn Lefrancois, and Connor Laferriere and several nieces and nephews.
