Richard A. Garin, 84, of Fountain Hill, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2018 while in the care of St. Luke’s Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of the late Marie (Smith) Garin for 53 years, who passed away in 2010. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Theresa A. (Castiello) Garin. Richard was a graduate of Bethlehem High School, class of 1952, where he met his wife Marie. He later graduated from Lehigh University in 1956, earning his bachelors degree in Accounting. Richard was a member of the Alpha Chi Rho fraternity. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Richard worked as an accountant for Houser Chevrolet and later for Berg Schultz and Green. He was a member of the former Our Lady of Pompeii Church, where he was active in the church choir, and currently was a member of St. Ursula Catholic Church. Richard was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Liberty High School Alumni Choir. He enjoyed volunteering at Musikfest, family picnics and going to breakfast with his brother Joe. Richard loved nature, sports, music, bowling and going to The Rocks every weekend. GO EAGLES!
Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Marie C. Werner and her husband Wayne of Coopersburg; son Richard A. Garin, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Whitehall; sister Anna Marie Shaton of Bethlehem; brother Joseph F. Garin II of Bethlehem; granddaughter Renee E. Garin of S. Whitehall Twp; step grandson Jason Weiland and his wife Jessica and their daughter Morgan of Northampton; many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, a great grand nephew and many loving cousins and other family members.
