Rhuteen Adams Wilkie, age 86, of Sanford went to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Sanford Health & Rehab, surrounded by her family.
Rhuteen was born in Wake County on July 31, 1935, to the late Lonnie and Madgree Cotton Adams.
Rhuteen was a longtime member of East Sanford Baptist Church. She retired from the Lee County School System and also worked at Ron’s Barn for 20+ years.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, James Fred Wilkie; children, Teena Batson (Michael) of Sanford, Woody Denton (Beth) also of Sanford, Pastor David Denton (Debbie) of Angier; grandchildren, Ashton Morse (Libby), Ashley Morse, Isaiah Kinney, Iaan Kinney, Scottie Horne; great-grandchildren, Dillon Horne, Caroline Morse.
