Rhonda Hayes “RH” Shook, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died peacefully on Thursday, February 17, 2011. RH Shook was born February 3, 1927 at the family home in Banner Elk, North Carolina to Hoyle (WWI Veteran) and Ruth (one of the 1st women to vote) Shook. He served as a private first class in the United States Army during WWII from 1945-1947. On June 3, 1950, RH Shook married Gertrude Potter in College Park, MD. RH Shook was a humanitarian, farmer and animal lover, and an accomplished business owner.

In 1950, he founded RH Shook Drywall and in 1972, the Millersville Supply Company. RH Shook was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyle and Ruth; infant son, James Dalton; adopted son, Joe Willis; and brothers, Larry and Zeb. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; sons, Gary and Ronnie; grandchildren, Angela, Christine, Julie, Alicia, and Ronnie, Jr.; great-grandchild, Jasmine; two brothers, Bradley and Errol; and five sisters, Mildred Smith, Pauline North, Audrey Rominger, Belinda Orr, and Joyce Wilson. Surviving are also 17 nieces and nephews.
