Rhonda Faye Hambleton, a native of St. Johns, died on Sunday, February 11, 2024 in Fort Myers, Florida after a sudden heart attack. She was 70 years old.Rhonda was born on May 2, 1953 in St. Johns, Michigan to Howard and Jean Woodbury. She was a proud 1971 graduate of St. Johns High School and attended Central Michigan University, always looking forward to the annual reunions with her classmates with whom she shared lifelong friendships. She married William Hambleton on September 30, 1972 and together they raised their family in Lansing.Rhonda was a retired accompanist for the Haslett Public School District, where she shared her passion for music with countless students. Her dedication to music manifested early in her life when she began her lifelong service as a church organist at the age of sixteen. She also offered piano lessons for many years, spreading the joy of music within her community. Rhondas musical career reached its pinnacle when she had the honor of playing the piano for the Haslett High School Choir on the prestigious stage of Carnegie Hall in New York.Rhonda was a beacon of positivity, effortlessly making friends and engaging in heartfelt conversations with everyone she met. Her zest for life was infectious, and she seized every day with enthusiasm and grace. She loved her family fiercely, and especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren.She is survived by her beloved husband of fifty one years, William Hambleton; her son, Ryan Hambleton (Jodi Potter); her daughter, Stephanie (Eric)Arntson; seven grandchildren: Abigail Faivor (Arntson), Megan Arntson, Hunter Hambleton, Emma Arntson, Quentin and Nolan Hambleton and Olivia Arntson; brother, Wayne (Diana) Woodbury; sister, Marie (the late Charles) Bengel; in-laws, Sharon (the late James) Seeley; Nancy (Bruce) Marshall, the late David (Rose) Hambleton, Susan Hambleton, Pam (Carl) Beach, Annette (Nick) Garland, numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family members and dear friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Jean Woodbury; brother, Brian Woodbury; in laws, Donald and June Hambleton.
