Rheta, 98, was a lifelong resident of Brevard . She was born on August 21, 1919, in Titusville, FL, to the late Rufus and Margaret Carter Coleman. Her family moved to the Cape, living not far from the Canaveral Lighthouse. Later the family moved to the Georgianna Settlement on Merritt Island, where she spent the majority her youth. After graduating from Cocoa High School in 1937, she went to work for Southern Bell, quickly working her way up to head operator and head of the business office. After World War II, she met and married attorney D. Lloyd Campbell.

Rheta’s husband, Lloyd Campbell, and her sib lings, Catherine Sellers, Ina Whitten and Henry Coleman, predeceased her. Rheta is survived by her daughters Lloyce Campbell of Merritt Island and Rheta C. Sherman (Tank) of Cocoa, many nieces and nephews and her longtime caregivers Odette Ellis and Charmaine Bramwell.
