Reynold died Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Stanton Health Center.

Reynold O. Erbst was born November 18, 1920 on a farm near Bloomfield the son of John and Helena (Rohlf) Erbst. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1938. Reynold enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in the southwest pacific from January 1942 until December 1944. He then returned to Bloomfield and worked as a clerk in a dry goods store.

Reynold married Alverna L. Bruns on April 20, 1947 in Bloomfield. The couple moved to Stanton in 1954 where he was the office manager for the ASC office, and then worked for them as a clerk. He then went to work for the Stanton Farmers Union Co-op and Stanton County Bridge Crew until he retired. After retirement he worked part time for the NRD until 2013.

Reynold was a charter member of the Bloomfield VFW Post 4996 and American Legion Post 249. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3062 and American Legion Post 88 in Stanton. He served as a volunteer fireman for the city of Stanton for 27 years, and in 2013 was awarded the Stanton Mustang Booster of the Year Award.

Reynold is survived by his son and his wife Marland and Janeen Erbst of Stanton, one brother Kenneth Erbst of Bloomfield, five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994, two brothers Larry and Eugene, and a daughter in-law Janice Erbst.
