Rex Wilkinson Hampton, our dearly loved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 6, 2011, in a care center in Meridian, Idaho.
Rex was born on November 21, 1921, in Franklin, Idaho, to Orlando and Arlein Wilkinson Hampton.
Rex married Beth Choules on July 15, 1947, in Fairview, Idaho. They lived in Pocatello, Idaho; Preston, Idaho; Ogden, Utah; and Sunset, Utah, where they resided for 52 years. They recently relocated to Eagle, Idaho, to be near family. They are the parents of three children. Rex was employed as a printer by the McBee Corporation for 28 years until his retirement in 1984.
Rex loved baseball and played every chance he got in his younger years. He was an avid San Francisco Giants fan. His lifelong dream was fulfilled when they won the 2010 World Series. He was an accomplished bowler, having bowled a 300 game and winning many tournaments.
Rex especially enjoyed sharing his unique humor with his grandchildren, and they loved being around him.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Berdean; and his brother, DeVor. He is survived by his wife, Beth; daughters, Kathy (James) Mumford of Eagle, Idaho, and Vicki (Willard) Neibaur; and son, Dan, both of Mesa, Arizona; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
