Rex “Pappy” Hobson
Rex “Pappy” Hobson went to Heaven at 5:40 pm on Thursday, March 10, 2011. He was born in Ignacio, Colorado on December 14, 1919 to Earl and Edna Hobson. He was 91 years old. The family moved to Mescalero when he was six years old.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-one years, Betty Lou in 1997.
Rex is survived by three sons and their wives, Bruce and Chris, Gary and Connie and Parker and denise; one nephew and his wife, Maurice and Mary of Tularosa.
Rex has ten grandchildren and their spouses, Bryon and Billy Ann, Bobby and Shawn, Jeremy and Angie, Doug and Kim, Elliot and Sara, Jackson, Jenna, Christy Miller, Lindsey Oberlandez, Erin Montoya and her husband John.
Rex is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren, all but one of whom live locally.
Pappy spent his summers in Colorado where he will be missed this summer.
He will be cremated and his ashes spread over the mountains of Southern Colorado and Southern New Mexico.
