Rex Leon Perry, 67, of Shelbyville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Rex was born on August 2, 1954 in Martinsville, Indiana to the late Rex Eugene and Margaret Ester (Hilt) Perry.

He was self-employed and worked in construction as a backhoe operator until his retirement in 2018.

Rex loved making jokes and making people laugh. He was a loving father and a wonderful grandfather whose greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Along with creating memories with his loved ones, he enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and gambling. Rex also had a passion for race cars, he was a driver for many years.

Rex is survived by his three children, Keith (Randy Smith) Perry of Indianapolis, IN, Melissa Perry of Shelbyville, IN, and Andrea (Lanny Poindexter) Lambert of Franklin, IN; his step-son, Austin Conner of Franklin; his six grandchildren, Keith Baxley, Taylor Donaldson, Sara Glass, Cayden Hawkins, Lanny Perry, and Aaliyah Poindexter; his five great-grandchildren, Jadon Donaldson, Nova Owsley, Remi Owsley, Isaiah Hulse, and Kaiser Hulse; his six sisters, Brenda Myers and Janice (Jerry) Ham, both of Martinsville, IN, Carol (Herb) Burke of Chatsworth, GA, Tracy Perry of Martinsville, IN, Rita Watkins and Debbie Forester, both of Bloomington, IN; his four brothers, Jerry (Brenda) Perry, Roy (Loretta) Perry, Kenny (Debbie) Perry, all of Martinsville, IN, and Alan Perry of Mooresville, IN.

Rex was preceded in death by his wife, Dianna (Fields) Perry; his parents, Rex and Margaret Perry; his sisters, Pam Cherry and Belinda Jo Perry; his brother, Homer Russell Perry.
