Rex Franklin Jackson, Sr., age 65, of Buchanan, died peacefully in his home, Thursday, May 7, 2020, in the presence of his family.

Rex was born July 5, 1954, in South Bend, Indiana to Loys and Myrna Jackson. He married Dell (Ward) Jackson July 30, 1988 in Three Oaks. She survives.

Rex was a DJ for twenty-five years. He loved working on cars and houses, hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, and collecting “his treasures” antiques. Rex enjoyed Three Oak’s Flag Day and looked forward to watching family members perform their music each year. His days were spent going to the casino, tinkering around his garage, talking on his CB radio “Fireball” being his handle. He was always ready for the next adventure, anything to travel. Rex cherished spending time with his family and friends, especially being “Papa” to his grandchildren.

Rex will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Dell Jackson of Buchanan; two daughters, Lisa (Andrew) Ott of Galien, Misty (Johnathon) Ledgerwood of Valparaiso, Indiana; two sons, Ronald (Kimberly) Richardson, Jr. of Bristol, Indiana, Tyrone (Connie) Jackson of Sawyer: fifteen grandchildren; sister, Sandra Szlanfucht of South Bend, Indiana; brother, Larry Jackson of Galien, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Rex Franklin Jackson, Jr., Eric Davis; and his sister, Janie Jackson.
