Reverend Windell Charles Thompson began his life’s journey on this earth on May 6, 1934. He was born in Haralson County, Georgia and was the son of the late Newt C. and Agnes Marie Davis Thompson.

Early in his adult life he heeded the call of his country and joined The United States Army and served during the Korean War. Following his tour of duty, he returned home and began his career as a carpenter and contractor. He would marry Frances Virginia Cochran and together they would have four children. She preceded him in death in 2002. Reverend Thompson was a man of great faith. His belief in honesty, fair dealing and dependability would be the foundation of his career. His faith in his creator would lead him into areas of service as a pastor who loved to share the gospel. He was pastor at Grace Baptist Church for a number of years. He was a man of the simple pleasures in life that revolved around working, fishing, music, camping and, yes, finding himself often in God’s house worshipping his creator. One of life’s most important opportunities for Reverend Thompson was setting the example of a Godly life for his children. They are Patti Benton and her husband Charles, Darlene and Vince Meadows, Charles and Lysta Thompson, Melissa and David Murrow. He was a happy grandfather to 11 and great grandfather to 9. He is also survived by his sister Sybil Burns.
