Reverend Harold Burkett, age 81, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Friday, October 28th, 2022 at Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.
Reverend Burkett was born on September 21st, 1941 in Madison, South Carolina. He was saved at the age of 19 and went on to preach the gospel for over 60 years. Over the years he served in many churches and also founded two; Revenant Worship Center in Valley, Alabama and another church in Aikens, South Carolina. He was the founding President of Faith Missions Ministries, Inc. He was the owner of Burkett Construction and used the profits from his business to do missionary work in Belize, Haiti, and Mexico. He was a faithful servant of God who loved to work for the Lord.
Reverend Burkett is survived by his wife of 59 years, Brenda Burkett; children, Harold David Burkett (Amy), Sheela Smith (Larry Martin), and Jennifer Mayfield; grandchildren, Meggan, Joshua, Hannah, Esther, Rebekah, Amber, Patrick, Bailee, Tanner, and Sean; great grandchildren, Elisha, Nyomi, Alitza, Mark, Winnie, Ellie, J.P., Justin, Bryson, Devlin, and Victoria; several great-great grandchildren; sisters, Sara Burgess (Calvin) and Margie Perdue (Halvey); brother, Bobby Burkett (Glenda); numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Burkett and Doris Preston; daughter, Sharon Snipes; brother, James Burkett; sister, Ellen Wells.
