Rev. Willis “Sam” Muncy, 81, Anderson, passed away March 1, 2011 at Manor Care, Anderson after an extended illness.

He was born February 4, 1930 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Anderson all of his life. Sam served his country in the US Army at the Chosin Reservoir during the Korean Conflict where he received a Silver Star and the Purple Heart. He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 30 years of service. He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church. He was a member of the Chief Anderson Lions Club, American Legion, VFW, Amvets, DAV, and Chosin Few. He received the Sagamore of the Wabash and numerous State and County Awards.

He is survived by his nine children, Charles Muncy of Plainfield, Larry Muncy & wife of Tennessee, Trina Goodnight, husband, David of Anderson, Lou Muncy, partner, Dianna, of Indianapolis, Schlonda Moore of Anderson, John Evans of Anderson, Tom Evans of Anderson, Bobby Evans, wife, Susan, of Anderson and Donny Evans of Anderson; one sister, Bonnie Ginden of Illinois; 18 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Hazel Muncy; wife, Patricia A. Muncy; son, Mike Evans, grandchildren, Michelle Muncy, Robert Evans & Owen King and several brothers and sisters.
