Rev. Robert W. Walters, 61, of 212 Waring Road, Allenwood, died Monday, July 20, 2009 at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore of a life threatening bacterial infection.
Rob and his wife, the former Candice L. Frantz, celebrated their 35th anniversary Dec 8, 2008.
Rob was formerly employed at Tetley Tea and was a self-contracting truck driver. He was an ordained minister of the Rock of Salvation Ministries, a Missionary Pastor/Teacher to churches in India, a US Army veteran of Vietnam with the USA Petroleum Depot, Okinawa and a member of American Legion Post 35, Hughesville.
Rob’s greatest passions in life were sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone he met and discipling young Christians to meet their fullest potential in the Lord. His love of his family, wife, two children and seven grandchildren was totally unconditional. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, bicycling, horse riding, motorcycling and gardening.
Born April 26, 1948 in Williamsport, he was the son of Chester M. and Adele R. Trimble Walters.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Jacob A. (Anne) of Montgomery; a daughter, Kristen M. (Houston) Walters of Williamsport; a brother, Steven F. (Pamela) of Muncy; a sister, Kathy G. (Charles) Kern of Hughesville and grandchildren, Jermaine K. and Whitney A. Bolden-Walters, Maurice D. and Kayana L. Thompson-Walters, Avry N. Walters, Jacob A. Walters Jr. and Matthew D. Simon.
