Rev. Mrs. Averlee Watson

Rev. Mrs. Averlee Watson, age 88 of 50l Rives Chapel Church Road, Siler City, N.C. passed on October 17, 2010 at her residence.

Rev. Averlee Watson was born February 13, 1922 to the late Gaston and Sally Marsh Alston. She was granted her angel wings and was called home to be with God Sunday morning, October 17, 2010. Averlee Watson is a native of Chatham County.

Rev. Averlee Watson never met a stranger. She blessed everyone with her caring smile, uplifting prayers, and encouraging words. She loved to sing and through this passion she organized the Glovers Grove Morning Star Choir fifty-five years ago. Rev. Averlee is most known for her evangelistic ministry. Spreading the gospel of God to everyone she met. She had done her missionary work at many places including the prisons, hospitals, and rest homes. Rev. Averlee was a true soldier of the Lord, who was not afraid to let God use her.

No wake is scheduled.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, James Watson of the home, Colester Watson of Siler City, NC, Rev. Clyde Watson (Madeline) of Siler City, NC, George Watson, Jr. (Gale) of Siler City, NC and Ruby Williams (Ules) of Greensboro, NC; fourteen grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
