Rev. John B. Bergstrom, Sr., 87, of 25 Berkshire Place, died Friday July 8, 2011 at The Gatehouse Hospice following an extended illness.
John’s wife, the former, Averil L. Peterson, died October 25, 1998.
John was Pastor Emeritus for the Trinity United Methodist Church. He retired from the Central Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church after 65 years in the ministry.
Born July 31, 1923 in Providence, RI, he was the son of Peter R. and Anna Marie Burrill Bergstrom.
Surviving are sons, John B. Jr. of Benton, Gary A. of East Harwich, Mass., Edward J. of Jersey Shore and David C. of Trout Run; daughter, Kathleen A. Trump of Williamsport; brother, Frank of Mechanicsburg; twenty grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
John was predeceased by two brothers.
