Rev. Fred MacMillan, 83, of Anderson, passed away on December 14, 2013 at the Community Hospital,
He was born on March 17, 1930 in Rosebank, Prince Edward Island, Canada. He retired from the Church of the Nazarene after 40 years of ministry. During his 20 years of owning Covenant Builders, he built 40 churches. He received his Doctorate of Divinity Degree from Garrett Theological Seminary at Northwestern University. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Olivet Nazarene University. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He loved to sing and play the violin. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events and dedicated his life to serving others. Fred is survived by his loving spouse whom he married August 11, 1956, Jeanette Morehead MacMillan, children, Lynette Tom Huth, Lucille Jeff Helpling, Lauren Cindy MacMillan, brother, Lorne Joyce MacMillan, grandchildren, Jordan Huth, Payton Huth, Brandon Helpling, Aubrey Helpling, Austin MacMillan, Jessica MacMillan, Evan MacMillan, Chloe MacMillan, great-granddaughter, Lyla Huth and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by mother, Elizabeth Ann Hardy MacMillan, father, Charles Leslie MacMillan and eleven brothers and sisters.
