Rev. F.D. McWhorter, 87, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 3, 1933 in Newnan to the late James Fletcher McWhorter & Lilla Floyd McWhorter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings James McWhorter, Joe McWhorter, Gladys Newby, and grandson Ricky Lee Estep.
Rev. McWhorter honorably served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1958. While proud of his military service, Rev. F.D. was most proud of his calling to serve the Lord as a minister for over 40 years. He was the senior pastor of Sunnyside Baptist Church for 36 years.
