Reta LaRae Parker Ewing 82, passed away peacefully Friday, September 10, 2021.  LaRae was born in Ogden, Utah on November 25, 1938 to Vern and Reta Parker.  She was the youngest of seven girls.  She attended Weber High School, received an Associate degree from Weber College and then attended Utah State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Education.

She grew up in Hooper, Utah on her dad’s farm.  She lived most of her life in Hooper.  She also lived in Logan, Ogden, and briefly in Ferron, Utah.

She was a wonderful mother, wife, and grandmother.  She taught second grade at Lakeview Elementary in Roy for a few years.  She is a member of the Hooper 1st Ward and has served in many capacities including Relief Society President.  She was involved with primary for handicapped children for 22 years as a teacher, chorister, and counselor in the presidency.  Sher served as a Mia Maid leader in the handicap mutual for 8 years which she loved.  Her faith and her family were her life.  She lived a life of love and service.

Her hobbies were family history, genealogy, reading, pottery, watching basketball and going to yard sales.  She was Captain of Camp V. Sarah Fowers in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.  She loved music and singing with her six sisters (Parker Sisters).

She was married to the love of her life, Thomas Milton Ewing in the Logan Temple, July 18, 1961.  She is survived by her husband, Tom and her four children, Mike (Urszula), Brad (Jennifer), Roger, and Richard (Renee); her 9 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Reta Parker, and six sisters, Catherine Garner, Genevieve Johnston, Donna Taylor, Florence Allen, Marion Allen, and Carol Jones.
