Retired Colonel Frederick D. Paige passed away June 22, 2012 in Jefferson County, CO. Fred was born November 4, 1930 in San Fernando, CA to Frederick M. Paige and Kathryn A. Newberry. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty M. (Herrig) Paige; and daughter Michelle Martin. Survived by daughters, Edythe (Mike) Miller of Omaha, NE, and Linda (Tom) Kozura of Grand Rapids, MI; son-in-law Brian Martin of Littleton, CO; grandchildren, Michael Martin, Kevin Martin, Rachael Miller, and Aaron Miller; sister Irene Kenedy of Middleboro, MA and a twin brother Herbert Paige.
Fred graduated from Battle Ground High School. He attended Washington State University with a degree in Agronomy. After College he joined the United States Air Force as a commissioned Officer. While stationed at Mather AFB in Sacramento, CA he earned his Masters Degree in Agronomy from the University of California Davis where he met the love of his life Betty of 36 years. While in the Air Force, he served his country flying as a navigator on B52’s and later as an intelligence officer. He had a deep love for his country and community. Fred was also a long time member of Kiwanis and is a past Governor of the Rocky Mountain Kiwanis District. He was always there to come to the aid of his fellow man. If he saw a need, he would be there in the background to make sure that need was taken care of. He will truly be missed by all of his friends and family. Fred is now in the loving arms of his Savior and is once again with his loving wife and daughter whom he missed everyday.
