Eugenia Rensing, 90, of New Baden, died Friday, April 24, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville. She was born March 8, 1919 in Aviston, daughter of Gerhard & Frances (Hellmann) Rakers. She married Ben Rensing, Jr. on May 8, 1940 in New Baden and he preceded her in death on Nov 3, 2004.
She is survived by her children, Art Rensing of New Douglas, Jane Terrell of Citris Springs, FL, Paul Rensing of Toledo, Judy Dudzik of Crestview, FL, Eileen Rensing of Fairview Heights, Marilyn Rosemier of Belleville, Norma Rensing of Fairview Heights, and Veronica Hanson of Trenton; brothers and sisters, Henrietta Kalmer, Cletus “Butch” Rakers, and Francis “Bud” Rakers all of New Baden; 12 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one grandchild; and brothers & sisters, Flora Fiedler, Al Rakers, Hank Rakers, Gerald Rakers, Oscar Rakers and Rich Rakers. Eugenia was a homemaker.
