Cecelia C. “Till” Renschen, 99 , of Aviston, Illinois, died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese, IL. She was born January 14, 1910 in Aviston, daughter of Henry & Louisa (Strake) Kuhl. She married Frank Renschen on November 28, 1929 in Aviston, IL and he preceded her in death on February 6, 1981. She is survived by her sister- in law Patricia Renschen of Arlington, VA., and nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters , Mary Alberternst, Frank Kuhl, George Kuhl, Anthony Kuhl, Edward Kuhl, Laura Wuest, Otto Kuhl, Josephine Molitor, Msgr.Urban B. Kuhl; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Henry Alberternst, Ann Kuhl, Regina Kuhl, Bernadine Kuhl, Hilda Kuhl, Arthur Wuest, Eleanor Kuhl, Paul Molitor, Frances & Ollie Von Bokel, Anne & Frank Kuhl, Sophie & Eddie Mondt, John & Marie Renschen, Joe & “Babe” Renschen, Al & Johanna Renschen, Paul & Pauline Renschen, Rev. Fred Renschen, and Louis & Betty Renschen.
Cecelia was a head cook at Aviston Elementary School and High School, and Mater Dei High School in Breese, she served school lunches for 33 years, and was a cook at the Breese Nursing Home. She was also assistant activities director at Aviston Countryside Manor. She was a member of St. Francis Parish and Ladies Sodality, Daughters of Isabella Circle 718, and the Joy of Christ Prayer Group in Aviston.
