Reinder Feldkamp “Buddy” Schilsky III, 50, of Jacksonville, IL died Friday evening, June 12, 2015, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
He was born December 21, 1964 in Elmhurst, IL, the son of Reinder F. II and Eudora Winterrowd Schilsky. He married Linda Stevens on October 24, 1998 in Springfield, IL and she survives.
He is also survived by three children, Meredith Schilsky and twins, Steven and Ava Schilsky, all at home; a brother, Reinder Gerald “Gery” Schilsky and his wife, Maritess, of Houston, TX; and a niece, Leslie Ann Schilsky of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Buddy grew up in Springfield and later moved to the Athens area and graduated from Athens High School in 1984. He proudly served in the Air National Guard and owned and operated the Lincolnland Telephone Answering Service and Lincolnland Alarm Company of Springfield from 1995 until 2014. Reinder and his wife, Dr. Linda Schilsky, moved to Jacksonville in 2001.
Buddy was a member of St. Paul’s Lodge #500 AF & AM in Springfield and attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in rural Jacksonville. He enjoyed raising chickens, fishing, and camping. A talented marksman, Buddy was passionate about air rifle field target shooting. He participated in numerous regional and national competitions, placing second in the national competition in 2012. He was also well-known for his cooking expertise, preparing meals for his family and friends. Yet his greatest love was spending time surrounded by his family.
