Rehal “Ray” Leger, 66, of Bristol, beloved husband of Catherine “Cathy” (Santos) Leger, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at Bristol Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. Ray was born July 11, 1940, in Barachois, New Brunswick, Canada, a son of the late Alyre and Zelica (Doiron) Leger.

Ray was employed by the State of Connecticut as an Institutional Chef until his retirement in 1995. He served in the United States Army, and the Connecticut National Guard from 1958 to 1965. He was a member of St.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his beloved son Jeffrey, and his wife Laura of Bristol, his granddaughter, Morgan Leger, who was the apple of his eye, a sister, Geanne Martin of Southington, two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronald and JoAnn Wagner of Bristol, and Hazel and Joe Bilella of PA., several nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews, including two grand nieces and a grand nephew who he was very close to, Halle Varkal (his girlfriend), Cody Varkal, and Caroline Norton. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Tony Leger, two brothers, Maurice and Roger Leger, and a sister and brother-in-law, Georgette and Chanel Albert. For the last two years of his life, Ray was in failing health but never complained. He would push himself to keep going. He leaves behind examples of courage and faith. We will forever treasure his memory.
