Reginald C. Watson, 59 of Fairmount, Indiana died on Monday, June 23, 2014 from injuries in an auto accident near Peru, Indiana Born Monday, June 4, 1955, he was the son of Robert Watson and Velma (Dickerson) Watson both of Summitville, IN. Reggie was a 1973 Gradate of Madison-Grant High School. He married KarenL. Planalp on October 11, 1975 at Harmony Christian Church in Leisure, IN.Karen survives in Fairmount, IN along with his shih tzu “Bailey”.

A mechanic by trade he worked at various farm equipment dealers in the area currently at Dirt-N-Turf of Greentown, IN. Reggie was very proud to be the longest living double transplant recipient in the United States, receiving his kidney and pancreas transplant on September 18, 1990 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.He served on the Fairmount Volunteer Fire Department for 30 plus years earning the Fireman of the year award multiple times.

He loved working on lawn mowers and tinkering with his 1974 Cub Cadet mower that he still mowed with and was given to him by his parents. As a NASCAR fan he enjoyed collecting Dale Earnhardt Sr.memorabilia. He loved his Mom’s coconut cream pie. Also surviving are brother, Timothy (Becky) Watson of Alexandria, IN. Uncle;Harold L. “Barney” Watson, Summitville. Mother -in-law Donna Planalp, Marion, IN Brother-in-laws;Mike (Kathryn) Planalp, Fishers, IN and Richard K. Planalp, Aster, FL Several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father-in-law, Lester Planalp.
