Reginald Benton “Reggie” King, 64, of 911 Country Club Dr. died Friday June 12, 2015 at his home.
A native of Rockingham Co., he was a son of the late James Benton and Regina Stewart King and had lived in Reidsville most of his life. Reggie was retired from the Rockingham Co. Sheriff’s Dept. and later worked for several years with RX Care. He was a former scoutmaster and assistant scoutmaster with troop 714 and a member of the Order of the Arrow. Among his accomplishments in scouting, Reggie was awarded the Silver Beaver, the God and Country and the District Award of Merit. He was a member of the Reidsville Lions Club, a former Deacon and worked with the youth handbell choir at his church. Reggie was an accomplished chef and was known for his stews and the many meals he cooked at church and for other functions.
Surviving is his wife: Janet Trimble King of the home, son: Jeremy King (Becca) of Austin, TX, daughter: Lauren Elizabeth King ( Adam Donohue) of Greensboro, sister: Regina K. Denny (Curtis) of Reidsville, grandchildren: Jack & Annabelle King of Austin, TX and Bryce & Iris Donohue of Greensboro, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, & great nephews.
