Regina Dolores Koziel, died Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield Illinois. Her most recent residency was in Wheaton Illinois.

Regina was born July 17, 1940 in Chicago Illinois to Casimir and Irene Suberlak (Smoczynski). She lived there until 1951, and then moved to Three Oaks, Michigan.

Regina attended Three Oaks High School, and graduated in 1958. On May 9, 1959 she married Richard Koziel of Galien, Michigan, with the ceremony held in Three Oaks at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. The couple began their life together in Three Oaks until building a home and moving to Galien in 1963.

In May 2000, Regina and Richard relocated to the South Bend area, near Notre Dame until August, 2014 when they moved to Wheaton Illinois. They recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.

While living in Galien, Regina had been employed as a bookkeeper at the Galien Mollberg Construction Company, and then later at First Camburn Oil Company which became Fage Oil Company. She was a faithful member and supporter of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Three Oaks for over 60 years.

Regina enjoyed her daily walks right up until her passing, and was even featured in a newspaper article when living in Galien, recounting her goal and achievement of walking over 1,000 miles each year. She enjoyed her daily prayer time, playing cards, shopping & browsing, and loved to sit by the family swimming pool entertaining family and friends, as well as being entertained poolside by her grandchildren.

She was a very loving and faithful person, whose life centered around her family, and the Lord. She felt very blessed as she watched her family grow, so proud of her children and grandchildren. In the last few years, she found great delight in seeing her young great-grandchildren and looking at photos or videos of them on Facebook.

Regina is survived by her husband of 56 years Richard and their children; Kathleen Koziel of Wheaton, Illinois, and Donald (Jessica) of Greentown, Indiana, and Dennis of Three Oaks. She had six grandchildren: Peter (Samantha Rinehart) Vander Aa IV, Nicholas (Alasha) Koziel, Angelica (Giovan) Guida, Jillian Koziel, Kelsey Koziel (Ryan Harrington), Madison Koziel, and seven great-grandchildren: Cameron, Maddalyn, Bristol, Isaac, Ryder, Portia and Peter V. Surviving siblings include Fr. Donald Suberlak, Elaine (Howard) Snyder, and Robert & Anthony Suberlak.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, sister Ann Uslan, and brothers Casimir Jr. and Kenneth Suberlak.
