Regina Ann Fields, affectionately known as Gene was born on October 28, 1955 in Savannah, GA to father James Fields and mother Rosezina Davis who transition on July 22nd, 2002. Regina relocated to south Jamaica Queens, New York in 1970 at the age of 15 where she met Raymond Smith, whom she attended John Bowne High School with. Together they would have 4 beautiful daughters.

She later graduated from John Bowne High School in 1973 and attended LaGuardia Community College shortly after.

Regina spent the earlier years of her children’s life as a homemaker and later held various positions such as a Park Ranger for the New York City Parks Department and a secretary at a medical office in order to provide for her family. She resided in Brownsville, Brooklyn from 1988 – 1997 and finally moved to Flushing, Queens where she raised her family. Regina was known to the children in the neighborhood as Mama. She was a mother to those who were motherless and provided a safe haven to those in need. In her home you were family and one of her children she nurtured and disciplined accordingly. Regina loved all animals. She always helped the ones in need of a warm cozy home.

She enjoyed being in the company of her children and grandchildren, who always looked forward to her home cooked meals (she was a fantastic cook and made the best Sweet Collard Greens!). In her home there was laughter, dancing, comfort and safety. She was truly the life of the party. She studied her bible on a nightly basis as she prayed for her family and filled her bible with various colored highlighters. Regina had a smile, laced with bright red lipstick, that will be missed by many.
