Refugio Espino, Jr. “Rudy” or “Cucio” passed from this life on February 4, 2016. Rudy was born in Dallas, Texas, on August 26, 1949 to Refugio Espino Sr. and Felipa Hernandez Espino. Rudy was a great cook – from his chili to his brisket – everything he cooked was delicious. He was always cracking jokes and making people laugh. He was caring and loving. Rudy was fiercely protective of his family. He was a great dad and granddad. Rudy loved being a granddad.
Refugio Espino, Jr. was survived by his loving daughter, Teresa Espino and her husband, Rogelio Silva III; grandsons, Refugio Espino, III and his wife, Adrean Buckaloo, and Rogelio Silva III; great-grandchildren, Joel J. Espino, Adreana O. Espino, Refugio Espino V and Zoey E. Espino; siblings, Sostenez Espino, Rebecca Espino, and Henrietta Delgado. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rufugio Espino, III; granddaughter, Angel Rosamarie Silva; and sister, Ernestine Rodriquez.
