Preston – Reda R. Ghattas 78, of Branch Hill Road, died unexpectedly, Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. He was born on August 30, 1935 in Assiut, Egypt son of the late Robeen Ghattas and Fawzia Hanna Awad. Mr. Ghattas worked for many years as an engineer at Pratt and Whitney Company. On November 24, 1974 he was united in marriage to Judith A. Marshall. Mrs. Ghattas survives her husband of 39 years. Mr. Ghattas was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Norwich and attended St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Preston with his wife.
In addition to his wife, Reda is survived by his daughters, Mary Carr of Norwich and Katherine Marquez of Burbank, CA, his grandchildren, William, Audrey, James-David and Mackenzie, and an additional grandson at any moment, a sister, Kamal Ghattas of Norwich, brother, Ehab Kattas of South Carolina, brother, Farouk Ghattas of Egypt and a sister, Amal Ghattas of Egypt.
