Rebecca’s gift from God was to be a mom and a proud mom she was. Not only to her own children but to many others as well. She passed on her love of baking to her children. There’s a long-standing debate among many as to which pie was her signature dish, Sweet Potato or Lemon Meringue. She was also known for her incomparable love for her many, many plants.
She was predeceased by her Brothers, Wesley Wimes Sr. of Springfield, Ma., Grige Wimes, Jr. of Moultrie, Ga., her Sister Martha (Wimes) Fuller of Moultrie, Ga and her daughter Carolyn Spradley. She is survived by her brothers Joshua Wimes (Pearline) of Raleigh, NC, David Wimes (Eunice) of Springfield, Ma, Robert “Cee” Jackson of Springfield, MA and sisters Priscilla Bolden of Springfield, Ma, Rachel Powell (Robert) of Atlanta, Ga, Sarah Clayton, Virginia Wimes of Moultrie, Ga, Exavier Victory of Baltimore, Md, Sally Vaughn and Barbara Boyd of Springfield, Ma.
