Mrs. Rebecca Williams Snider, age 87, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home in Valley, Alabama.
Mrs. Snider was preceded in death by her husband Byron Snider; her grandson, Joshua House; her brothers, Horace Williams and Lanier Williams; her sisters, Annette Roberts and Juanita Williams.
Mrs. Snider was born in Chambers County on January 10, 1930, to the late Horace and Gladys Williams. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawmut. She retired from West Point Pepperell in 1987. She was a very devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She had a feisty, good sense of humor that was loved by all. She loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her.
Mrs. Snider is survived by her son, Buddy (Amy) Combs of Valley, AL; daughters, Deborah Combs of Valley, AL and Ann (Tony) Jones of Valley, AL; grandchildren, Shane (Shannon) House of Rockford, AL, David (Carrie) Jones of Smiths Station, AL, Jonah (Joni) House of Valley, AL, Brandon (Jessica) Combs of Valley, AL, Rebecca Jones of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Dustin (Dianna) Combs of Valley, AL; sister, Billy Jean Clem of Valley, AL; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
Her family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of EAMC Lanier Nursing Home and Chattahoochee Hospice for the exceptional care given and shown to Mrs. Snider.
