Rebecca Lee Harding died of complications from cancer at the University of Maryland Medical Center early Sunday morning, November 12, 2006. Born Rebecca Lee Himmelmann in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 20, 1962, she lived in the midwest until she moved to Cape St. Claire/Annapolis in 1974. She graduated from Severna Park Senior High School in June 1980. After attending Anne Arundel Community College, she finished her college work at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in June 1985 where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science. She did her graduate work at the Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering, receiving her Masters Degree cum laude in May of 1997.
Mrs. Harding’s professional career began at AAI in 1985 where she became a Senior Engineering Analyst and TSSC Area Lead working on the Joint Stars Maintenance trainer. She also worked at B-to-B Software Applications and Corvis Corporation of Columbia, MD.
