Rebecca “Becky” Mary Davison, 61 passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in Alamogordo, NM. She was born on November 30, 1948 in Dalton, Nebraska to Perle Albert and Dorothy Orilla (Putnam) Davison.
She started school in Ruidoso, NM and then moved and continued school in Alamogordo, NM. In 1961 she returned to Chadron, NE where she graduated from Chadron High School in 1966.
Becky Attended nursing school at St Joseph Hospital in Alliance, NE. She worked as a nurse in Sidney, NE and Harvard, NE.
She returned to Chadron, Ne to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Education, from Chadron State College. She taught in Zumi, Nm and then in Alamogordo until her retirement due to ill health. She was a positive influence on many students over the years as a teacher.
She belonged to the Retired Teachers Association, Pan American Association, DAR, United Methodist Women’s Red Hat Society, volunteer of the Cancer Closet, and was to be instated as president of Kappa, Kappa, as the National President later this week.
Survivors include her sister, Marjorie Davison Hinman and husband Ed of Alliance, NE, nephews, Ed A. Hinman Jr, wife Sue and great nephew Carl William of Rapid City, SD, Kenneth Charles (KC) Hinman, wife Milly and daughters Brittany and Ashlan, Nicholas Verner Hinman wife Jennifer and great nephew Zane Wyatt and great niece Aurora June, step sisters Joan Scoop of Sun City West Arizona and her sons Jeff and Barry and their families, and Linda Marshall and her husband Harry and their daughter, Elissa, Denise, Connie, and their families, cousins Al Clark and family of Milwaukee WI, Myra Susan Putnam of Florida, and Diana Putnam of Charlotte, NC.
She was preceded in death by her father, Perle Davison, mother Dorothy O. Davison Van Sant, her step father, Nicholas A. Van Sant, older sister Myra Susan Davison, and special cousin Orri Jay Putnam of Charlotte, NC.
