Rebecca Cheney Jackson
1967 – 2020
Becky was born March 23, 1967 to Wayne and Kathie Cheney in Logan, Utah. She passed away on December 29, 2020 in Clinton, Utah surrounded by her loving family. She grew up in Centerville, Utah and the Denver, Colorado areas. She attended Utah State University, Metro State College of Denver, and Western Governors’ University.
After serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Madrid, Spain, she met and married Jeff Jackson in Denver, Colorado. They lived in the Denver area for seven years, then moved to Clinton, Utah. Becky and Jeff stayed in Clinton and raised their children there.
Becky loved her church and had a deep love for the Savior and His gospel. She faithfully served in many positions in her church and had a strong passion for working with the youth in her area.
In 2000, Becky began teaching school and developed a love of working with students. She taught grades 1, 4, 5, and 6. However, her passion for education was not just limited to her classroom. She devoted several years to curriculum development at the district and state level. She enjoyed every opportunity to better her students’ lives and the development of the school and district where she taught.
Becky is preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Cheney. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Jackson, and children, Jake (Braquel) Jackson, Cody Jackson, and Caroline Jackson. She leaves her beautiful grandchildren, Jett, Katherine, and Phoebe. She is also survived by her father, Wayne Cheney, step-mother, Mary Sue Hamilton Cheney, father-in-law, Newell Jackson, and mother-in law, Carolee Jackson. Also surviving are her sister, Mary Ann Cheney, and brothers Richard (Jason) Cheney, and Nathan (Tammy) Cheney as well as a large extended family.
Becky’s life was full of family and countless friends. She cherished her time with them. Becky is grateful for life’s eternal plan. She loves her time with her family and knows it will continue forever.
Becky’s family would like to thank the Huntsman Cancer Institute and Dr. Joe Mendez for their tireless efforts on treating glioblastoma.
