Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Johnson, 50, of Lafayette, passed away Sunday March 13th, 2022 at her residence.
She was born February 18, 1972 in South Bend, IN to the late Carole “LaDawn” (Seeds) Johnson & Larry W. Johnson of Lafayette.
Becky graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1990 and attended college.
Becky worked at Von Tobel for more than 20 years. She was one of the first people you were to most likely see when you walked into Von Tobel and the last to see when you walked out.
When Becky laughed, everyone knew that she was there because she could be heard around the entire store. Her laugh was infectiously contagious. She made many people smile as she talked to and listened to customers. She made people feel like they mattered somehow.
Becky loved people of all ages. She was not afraid to go up to people and talk to them. She especially enjoyed making kids smile and giggle, she delighted in them. Becky will be forever remembered as one who had a way of coming into your life and causing you to feel special simply because of who she was. She didn’t try to be someone or something that she wasn’t. Becky had a heart of gold and she was truly loyal. She loved her family and friends and always had a heart for the “underdog.” She would go visit dad every Saturday and spend time with him. She was a good kid!
Surviving with her father Larry, is her sister Jennifer (husband Jeff) Brovont of Lafayette.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her mother, Carole, “LaDawn” Johnson.
Becky, you lived your life full of love for others, you were genuine, generous, and the best cheerleader in the world! As far as I’m concerned you were the best sister in the world! I will miss you and hearing you giggle, but I know I shall see you again someday!
