TORRINGTON –NEAL – Raymond W. Neal, 63, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 14, 2021 surrounded by his family after a long battle with many illnesses. Born December 16, 1957 in Torrington; the son of Doris (Aube) Neal of Torrington and the late Raymond C. Neal. Ray grew up and spent most of his life in Winsted. Ray served the community he loved on several Boards including the Board of Ed and Planning and Zoning as well as his involvement with Camp Jewell of the YMCA in Winsted. He was an avid collector of history books and bibles. He loved everything New York especially the Yankees and Giants. Ray also loved Stephen King novels. He is survived by his beloved children, Trisha Royer and husband Joseph of Torrington with whom he lived, Forrest Neal and Mariah Neal, both of Torrington; cherished grandsons he adored spending time with, Tyler VanDeusen and Joseph Royer, III; a brother, David Neal of Unionville; a sister, Dianne Pixley and husband Steven of Winsted; and close niece and nephews, Tanya Lucia and husband Jason of Torrington, Timothy Hoffman of Winsted and William Hoffman and wife Kim of Winsted; and many friends. He was predeceased by a nephew, Christopher Neal.
