Raymond Vastey was born on November 5, 1940, in Desdunes, Haiti to the late Pierre Louise and Ann Marie Dessin.
Raymond, the eldest child, migrated to the states in the late 1970’s and began work as a forklift driver. While he pursued a new life in the United States, he continued to support his family overseas.
Raymond married Altagrace and had three beautiful children, Sophia, Sobruna and Raynal.
Raymond dedicated his time to raising his children. He also felt proud in attending his children’s and grand-children’s various activities throughout the week.
As a child Raymond developed a passion for agriculture while working on his father’s large Haitian farm. From that continuous passion, Raymond loved to spend countless hours growing fruits and vegetables in his garden.
Raymond was remembered for his generosity. During harvest season he would often share fruits of his labor with anyone who stopped by his home. He was often found helping with light mechanical work for family and friends. During winter he would always offer a helping hand with snow shoveling for his neighbor.
Raymond leaves behind his wife, Altagrace Vastey his children, Sophia Carter, Sobruna Vastey and Raynal Vastey. Grandchildren, Jamison and Hudson; His nephews, nieces, Angel Noel, Katline Vastey, Lefranc Vincent, many nieces and nephews in Haiti.
