Raymond Richard “Rich” Lopez, age 76 of Fruita, Colorado, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015 at this residence following a gallant battle with cancer. Born March 3, 1939 in Gilcrest, Colorado, he was the son of the late Luis and Ramona Chacon Lopez. Prior to his retirement, Rich had operated a printing business for nearly four decades in Greeley, Colorado. Rich was a kind man with a winning personality who spent his time talking to people in the community. He networked for many causes close to his heart, like meeting with law enforcement to improve relations and build trust between police and the Hispanic community, creating the Law Enforcement Latino Alliance as a result. Perhaps most memorable was his part in the creation of the Western Colorado Latino Chamber of Commerce. Rich served as president until his illness. Rich is survived by his wife, Jo D. Fowler Lopez, a sister, Rachel Ornales, of Gilcrest, Colorado and a brother, Steve Lopez of Denver.
