Raymond “Ray” Marshall passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at the age of 87. Born on July 14, 1935, in Winsted; the son of the late John and Victoria (Rotar) Marshall of Winsted. Ray was one of 13, brothers and sisters.
Ray was employed by the Hitchcock Chair Company for 48 years and was very proud of the work he did running the customer repair dept. He was a skilled furniture repair & refinisher and was respected by those who worked with him. He was always there to give someone a hand when they needed it.
Ray cherished his time with family and was a loved Uncle by all of his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Besides his love for his family Ray loved his horses. He had a small farm on Wallens Hill in Barkhamsted where he raised, bred and showed Arabian horses, who won many awards over the years.
Ray spent the last 5 years at Valerie Manor where he enjoyed spending time with his friends and staff. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff that made his time there a happy one.
He is survived by his former wife, Germaine Lemieux; daughter, Bonnie Marshall of Thousand Oaks, CA and sons, Jason Marshall of Winsted and Robin Marshall of Kauai, HI; grandchildren, Emily Nauert & James Nauert of Thousand Oaks, CA; and sisters, Vicky Noble, Genevieve Wald, Patricia Caine, Lorraine Crunden; and brother, Rowland Marshall.
Ray was predeceased by his sisters, Anna Caine, Virginia LaLime, Betty Pacocha, Shirley LaCasse and brothers, Robert “Bob” Marshall, and John Marshall.
