Raymond Peter Czaplicki, age 93, beloved husband of the late Sophie Blaskewicz Czaplicki of Milford, died on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Cambridge Manor in Fairfield. Son of the late Ignatz and Josephine Ulatowski Czaplicki, Raymond was born in Bridgeport on December 5th, 1920. Ray served in the Army for 6 years during World War II. He was a professional truck driver, an avid wood worker and carver, and a very proficient pool player all of his life. His fellow pool players at the Milford Senior Center competed to be his partner in their daily pool matches over the last thirty years.
Raymond is survived by two sons, Edward R. Czaplicki and his wife, JoAnne, of Milford, Thomas P. Czaplicki and Judy Isak of Virginia Beach, VA; his daughter, Sister Susan Czaplicki, SSND of Baltimore, MD; two grandsons, Justin E. Czaplicki and Jenn Corbett of Meriden, CT, and Matthew R. Czaplicki and his wife, Rebecca, of East Haven, CT and two great-grandsons, Connor M. and Dylan M. Czaplicki, along with many nieces, nephews and grandnieces. Raymond was predeceased by his two brothers, Edward Czaplicki, and Zigmunt Czaplicki, and sister, Evelyn Cwik.
