NELSON, RAYMOND DEWITT passed away at the age of 89 on Friday, August 3, 2012 in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. Raymond was born on January 22, 1923 to Dewitt Talmadge Nelson Ernestine German Nelson. They lived in Tarrant, AL where he met his high school sweetheart Mary Frances Heath. They were married on April 11, 1944. One of the “Greatest Generations,” Raymond joined the Navy January 11, 1943 and served 22 years. Then he worked for Sears 21 years. In 1957 they moved to the Memphis area and remained there until 2008 when they moved to Mt. Juliet, TN to be near their daughter Ann Huggins and her husband Fred. Raymond enjoyed making beautiful furniture and decorative pieces in his woodworking shop. Many family members have these to enjoy. He loved his family with all his heart. His is survived by his wife of 68 years, Frances Nelson; daughters, Carolyn Addenbrook and Ann Huggins (Fred); son, Steve Nelson (Suzanne); grandchildren, Tracy Miller (Rick), Cindy and David Addenbrook, Lauren Nelson, Leslie Nelson New (Corry), and Conrad Nelson; great grandchildren, Madison and Britney Miller, Cheyenne and Ruby New; brothers, Milton Nelson and Charles Nelson (Grace); sister, Doris Nelson Patterson (Charles); several extended family and friends. He was loved dearly and will be missed.
