Raymond “Ray” Lee Sexton, passed away peacefully on March 17th, 2022. Ray was born on June 8, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa to Clarke and Mary (Paterno) Sexton. He graduated from Bondurant High School having played both football and basketball. He attended Drake University and was a member of the Iowa National Guard. Ray married the love of his life, Phyllis Schaffer on April 27th, 1957. He had a long career as the Vice President of Town Financial for over 40 years.
Ray was a devout Catholic and attended mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. His greatest love and joy in life was being with his family. He enjoyed traveling and cheering on the Hawkeyes. Ray is survived by his daughter, Shari (Sean); sons, Mark (Jane), David (Giovanna); grandsons; Todd (Katelyn); Chad (Amber), and two great-grandsons, Nile and Louis. He is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, daughter Debra, parents, Clarke and Mary Sexton, and brother, Steve Sexton.
