Raymond G. Birks, age 98, husband of Ursula Carroll Birks, passed away peacefully on September 6. He was born in Milford, the son of Raymond C. Birks and Hazel Griffith Birks.
He was predeceased by his son Raymond, his daughter Mary and brothers Robert and George. He is survived by his brother Lee of Massachusetts, son John (Robin) of Seattle, daughter in-law Sally of Seattle, daughters Susan (Robert) O’Boyle of Nova Scotia, Katy (Lance) Werner of Delaware, and Shelly (Peter) Cumpstone of Killingworth. He enjoyed his 9 grandchildren; Jennifer, Raymond, Samantha, Ryan, Dana, Brittany, Meredith, Tucker and Greg and 11 great grandchildren; Clare, Cole, Sydney, Isabella, Beck, Eleanor, Ryder, Hudson, Brodie, Danica and Bentley. Ray was a quiet, humble, loving family man, yet, also an avid skier until age 90, enthusiastic sailor until age 94, and an auto racing fan forever.
