Raymond F. Tarzwell, 92, of Jacksonville, IL died January 7, 2009 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
He was born November 18, 1916 in Jacksonville; the son of Frank and Alice Lonergan Tarzwell. He married Doris Lucille Stauffer on August 18, 1945 in Jacksonville and she preceded in death on August 6, 2007.
He is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins and was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Tarzwell.
Mr. Tarzwell was a retired area grocer and formerly owned and operated Carrollton Foods in Carrollton for 10 years, retiring in 1972. a us Army Veteran of WWII, he was a member of Jacksonville American Legion Post #279, Church of Our Saviour, and was formerly active with the Carrollton Lions and Rotary Clubs.
