Ray Gray was born to George and Cleo Gray on October 13, 1930 in Little Rock Arkansas. “Grandpa Ray” or “drop the G in my last name and you have my first name,” or “Razor” was second to youngest of five siblings.
After Graduating from North Little Rock High School, he attended Little Rock JR College for two years before becoming a proud member of the U.S. Air Force. During his time in the Air Force he served in Japan and Korea, during the Korean War.
He met the love of his life, Virginia Miller in 1952 and they were married in 1953 in Nampa, Idaho while stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base. They had four children, Duane, Dennis, David and Lori.
Ray served 24 years in the Air Force, and was employed by Commercial TV and Appliance (later known as “CHF”). He made many friends including his boss and best friend, Tony Kurpiewski who preceded him in death by one week.
Grandpa Ray was a hard-working man who enjoyed his family including nine grandchildren (Jenny, Justin, Sadie, Daniel, Jessie, Eddie, Dillon, Julie, Christina) and four great-grandchildren (Alec, Bennett, Ava, Katie). He spent many adventures traveling not only throughout the world, but to Jackpot, Nevada, or any other place he could play video poker, or watch “The Wheel”.
As you can see, his sense of humor will always be one of the things we will most miss about him. It is hard to imagine life without him pushing us to be better and on time! We love you and will miss you. Salute to a fine man who died with a comb in his pocket.
Ray is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
