Raymond Earl Yadon, of Parma, Idaho died on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Safehaven Health Care Center in Pocatello, Idaho at the age of 74. He was a life long resident of Parma.

Raymond and his brother Ronald were born to Paul and Dorothy Yadon on April 16, 1936 in Caldwell. When the doctor realized these babies were super-imposed pregnancies 30 days apart, he was forced to deliver them six weeks early. This early delivery created some complications in Raymond’s early childhood development.

He attended the Parma schools until the eighth grade, but had difficulty keeping the learning pace with his peers. His parents finally withdrew him from school, and his mother taught him to read and write in the haven of his home.

Raymond lived with his parents until his father passed away in 1983 and his mother was confined to a nursing home. Under the watchful care of his brothers and the Parma community, Raymond was able to live in the family home by himself for 24 years until a stroke forced him into a care center in June of 2008.

He loved animals, and always had the company of a pet.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father (Paul), his mother (Dorothy), one sister (Leona), and three brothers (Marvin, Ronald, Ordell). He is survived by three brothers and their wives: Loren and Elaine Yadon of Boise, Paul Vernon and Janette Yadon of Maple Falls, Washington, Steven and Sherl Yadon of Pocatello, Idaho, as well as Erma Yadon, the widow of his brother Ordell. One of the delights of his life was to spend time with his many nephews, nieces, and their families.

The extended Paul Yadon family cannot adequately express their gratitude to the citizens of the Parma community who provided a safe place where Raymond could live. His Parma friends constantly looked out for his welfare. In Raymond’s life, it really did “take a village.
